President Trump issued a statement during his Independence Day address affirming that the federal government will be harshly cracking down on anyone who destroys American statues and monuments.
Leftists attempting to destroy the very foundations of the United States of American gained a shocking amount of headway in recent weeks and Donald Trump has had enough.
What started with cries to dismantle statues of Confederate generals and leaders swiftly morphed into attempts to remove imagery of America’s founders.
Speaking in front of Mount Rushmore — itself now a subject of cries for destruction –, President Trump said that his recently-issued executive order will put a stop to unlawful attempts to desecrate national monuments.
“Make no mistake. This left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution,” Trump explained. “In so doing they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence, and hunger, and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery, and progress. To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol, and memory of our national heritage.”
“That is why I am deploying federal law enforcement to protect the monuments, arrest the rioters, and prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law,” Trump said.
“Under the executive order signed last week pertaining to the Veteran’s Memorial and Recognition Act and other laws, people who damage or deface federal statues will get a minimum of ten years in prison.”
Trump also announced his intention to create a new national park that will feature statues honoring over two dozen “of the greatest Americans who ever lived.”
