President-elect Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden was involved in some overseas deals that were questionably legitimate, to say the least.
President Trump was rumored to be considering appointing a special counsel to investigate the allegations, however, Trump displayed an abrupt reversal from his previous advocacy for an investigation into the Biden family, declaring on Thursday that he has “NOTHING to do” with any efforts to prosecute the younger Biden.
“I have NOTHING to do with the potential prosecution of Hunter Biden, or the Biden family,” Trump tweeted Thursday. “It is just more Fake News. Actually, I find it very sad to watch!”

The media can’t seem to decide what to do with the bombshell revelations about Hunter Biden and members of his family making deals in the Ukraine and China using Joe Biden’s status as vice president at the time and possibly even roping him into the schemes.
At first, they tried to suppress the story before the 2020 presidential election so it wouldn’t hurt Joe Biden’s shot at the presidency, Fox News reported. Then, Hunter Biden admitted he was under investigation all along, but only that it was about his taxes.
Nobody on the left wants to really dive into it, and with Joe Biden taking the reins of power next month, the chance there will be a thorough and fair investigation– even by the government — dwindles by the day. For this reason, there have been rumblings of a special counsel being appointed to investigate the matter, Reuters reported. Attorney General Bill Barr is stepping down Dec. 23, and the incoming Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen has yet to commit one way or another. A special council would ensure that the incoming Biden administration couldn’t stifle the investigation through its own attorney general.
The news outlet also linked the entire investigation of the Bidens to Trump. As many in the media latched onto during the president’s impeachment, they blame the supposed pressure Trump put on the Ukrainian government as the reason for the investigation in the first place. The problem is, even if it was a favor that launched the investigation, the evidence speaks for itself.
Hunter Biden’s own laptop is a veritable treasure trove of incriminating evidence that he was trading on his family’s name in exchange for favorable foreign business deals. The younger Biden left an electronic breadcrumb trail linking him to Chinese and Ukrainian business endeavors, often dropping not-so-subtle hints about his father’s expected kickbacks or approval of the deals.
No matter how the media try to spin these crimes or the investigation into them as a Trump vendetta, there is no reason to object a special council. Either these charges are true and Hunter Biden should be prosecuted, or they’re false and an investigation will vindicate the president-elect and his family for good. The only rational reason for wanting to make this legally play out is if the president-elect knows these allegations are true and will take down his whole family.
