Democrats collectively breathed a sigh of relief when Joe Biden finished his DNC nomination acceptance speech without any major blunders — a shocking feat for the aging candidate.
Despite the mainstream media’s celebration of the DNC’s “success,” a new poll released by Rassmussen Reports shows that Donald Trump’s approval rating surged during the Democratic National Convention — not the intended result of the four-day-long leftist infomercial.
The Washington Examiner reported:
During this week’s Democratic National Convention, which was supposed to launch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s ticket into the fall election with good feelings and high poll numbers, President Trump’s approval rating surged.
The Rasmussen Reports daily average for Trump, which is spread over three days, hit 51% this week — and has stayed there.
On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Trump’s approval rating was 47%.
A party convention is meant to whip up support and enthusiasm for a presidential candidate — preferably the party’s own candidate. I’m sure we won’t be hearing any complaints from Donald Trump about the results of the DNC.
Conservative pundit Matt Polumbo wrote on Thursday evening:
When I reached out to Rasmussen to confirm that the sampling for today’s poll wasn’t taken before the DNC began to air, they said the polling data was being accumulated as the DNC speeches were ongoing. In other words, it is likely that some people were being directly influenced by the DNC – albeit not in favor of any Democrats.
These results shouldn’t be shocking. Leftist CNN pundit Van Jones openly admitted on camera Friday morning that Democrats were “going to come out here and praise” Biden’s acceptance speech “as long as he didn’t embarrass himself.”
Clearly, even the most hardcore Democrats have accepted that support for Biden is only driven by an irrational hatred of Trump. The problem is, that approach isn’t exactly universal, nor is it inspiring for voters on the fence.
