The leader of a major toy company criticized President Joe Biden on Wednesday over the growing supply chain crisis leading up to the holiday shopping season.
MGA Entertainment CEO Isaac Larian said during a Fox News “America’s Newsroom” interview Wednesday that ports open 24 hours a day every day doesn’t help without the needed workers.
“Whether the ports are open 24 hours a day or 48 hours a day, you cannot get labor. If you cannot get labor, you cannot get trucks, you cannot get the merchandise out,” Larian said.
“I think this directive is too little, too late. And frankly, it’s a political gimmick to me,” he added.
Larian also noted the situation is worse than he has seen in four decades in the industry.
“I’ve been doing this for 42 years. I have never, ever seen something like this before. And frankly, the administration knew about this and — what they are doing is too little, too late to save this holiday,” he said.
Biden’s latest announcement may make some impact, but it’s not enough to change the supply crisis. In addition to his other problem issues in recent weeks, the president may become known as the Grinch who stole Christmas.
