Timothy Parlatore, one of Donald Trump's Attorney's, abruptly resigns

One of former President Donald Trump's key attorney's has decided to depart from Trump's legal team.

The departure of Timothy Parlatore was first reported by CNN on Wednesday, May 17.

Parlatore has represented Trump, mainly, in the classified documents case that the former president is facing. The matter, which saw the unprecedented raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate last summer, is currently being investigated by Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Jack Smith, who is said to be nearing the end of his investigation.

In December, Parlatore voluntarily testified before a grand jury in relation to this case, specifically about DOJ efforts to recover classified documents alleged to be in Trump's possession. Parlatore said that, there, the prosecution "repeatedly tried to ask me about my conversations with President Trump, which is totally outside the scope of what I was there for."

More recently, Parlatore co-authored a letter, sent to the House Intelligence Committee chairman, in which it was argued that the DOJ ought to be "ordered to stand down" in its investigation.

CNN claims that Parlatore's departure "had been rumored for several weeks among the former president's inner circle."

Parlatore has not revealed why it is that he is leaving Turmp's legal team. In a statement to CNN, Parlatore said:

It’s been an incredible honor to serve and work through interesting legal issues. My departure was a personal choice and does not reflect upon the case, as I believe strongly the (Justice Department) team is engaging in misconduct to pursue an investigation of conduct that is not criminal.

In a separate statement that he gave to the Associated Press Parlatore added that his departure was not a reflection of "the strength of the government's evidence" and that "he believes he had served Trump well."

CNN and several other leftist outlets are trying to paint a picture of chaos among members of Trump's legal team.

CNN reports that "the former president’s legal team has been rife with infighting for several months," while the Washington Post has referred to Trump's lawyers as a "fractious group."

It is unclear whether this reporting is accurate. If it is accurate, it is unclear what the "infighting" has been about.

Trump, at the time of this writing, has not commented upon Parlatore's departure.

The former president, however, did recently blast the DOJ and others for the continuing investigations that are being led into him.

Trump, on Truth Social, wrote:

I WAS BEING FRAMED BY THE FBI AND THE DOJ. NOW IT CONTINUES WITH THE BOXES HOAX, THE ‘PERFECT’ PHONE CALL IN ATLANTA, THE MANHATTAN D.A., AND THE NEW YORK STATE A.G. SCAM. WHAT A GROUP, BUT ALL REPORT TO THE DOJ IN WASHINGTON. IT’S JAMES COMEY AND THE SLEAZEBAGS ALL OVER AGAIN. THEY ARE PLAYING ELECTION INTERFERENCE IN 2024 THROUGH ILLEGAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAINST REPUBLICANS, IN PARTICULAR YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT, ME. THESE ARE CHEATING LOWLIFES, BUT WE WILL WIN. OUR COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL!
