'The View' mocks Justice Roberts and his take on SCOTUS

The hosts of "The View" mocked Supreme Court Justice John Roberts on Monday over his view of the court's legitimacy.

Roberts said on Friday that the court has always decided controversial cases, a statement the hosts of "The View" did not agree with in their commentary.

"I think John Roberts is being a bit disingenuous. Yes, Americans made some tough decisions including letting black kids go to school with white kids, letting gay people get married," co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.

"There are many, many decisions people freaked out about. This one, this last spate of stuff comes from a place of religion, which is not constitutional. I mean, that's not how we are supposed to be doing things, as far as I remember … I thought I was allowed to be who I am. That's why you want to be an American because you're free to be who you want to be and other people don't have to like who you are," she added.

Co-host Ana Navarro added to the criticism with her own controversial commentary, stating, "If he doesn't understand why Americans are questioning the legitimacy of the court, let me explain it to him."

The differences between the Supreme Court and "The View" are so wide that they should not even comment on its work. Instead of mocking our highest court, maybe they could try to show a little respect and recognize the hard work of those who serve in the role.
