The Texas Senate passed a new election integrity bill on Thursday that now heads to the state’s House of Representatives while many Democrats remain missing.
The bill passed despite a 15-hour delay from Democrat Sen. Carol Avarado who sought to delay the passage of the vote.
“As we draw this discussion to an end, it is my sincere hope that civil acts by everyday Texans, from the Senate floor to the ballot box, can help to shed the light on all important issues,” she said as she ended, according to the Texas Tribune. “What do we want our democracy to look like?”
According to Breitbart News, “On Wednesday, Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan signed arrest warrants for 52 Democrat fugitives who neglected their duty and escaped maskless on a private plan to Washington, DC, to prevent the passage of election integrity legislation.”
However, the Texas Democrats continue to remain at large and have filed a lawsuit with the state.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has said he will continue to call special sessions until the missing Democrats return.
The drama continues to unfold as Democrats seek a way to escape the election reform bill while Republicans continue to push for ways to force them to return for a vote.
