Law enforcement is under attack politically from groups that want to defund them. However, they are still physically at risk as they put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public.
A manhunt is underway to find the suspect who shot a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Friday night, Fox News reported. The trooper’s name has not been released and the suspect is still at large.
The officer was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not released information about the nature of the officer’s wounds as he continues to fight for his life.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in Mexia, TX, about 80 miles southeast of Dallas. Multiple law enforcement personnel were on the scene shortly thereafter, but the suspect fled.
The suspect, 37-year-old DeArthur Pinson Jr., is described as a Black man, about 6-foot-tall and 220 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, and some facial hair. He was last wearing shorts that had a side stripe on the side, a black hoodie, and glasses. He’s considered to be armed and dangerous.

Since the death of George Floyd last May while in Minneapolis police custody, the establishment media has hammered the narrative that police officers routinely hunt down minorities and shoot them for sport. This has led many cities to defund their police departments and deepened the divide between officers and the minority communities they protect.
While protests raged on and spurred on political action to codify the suspicion and hatred for the police, the men and women in law enforcement have continued to put their lives on the line to protect and serve. We don’t⁰ know the exact details of this shooting, but we know that a person in uniform may give the ultimate sacrifice.
Like any profession, there are good police officers. However, the left has decided to trash the entire profession for the sake of a few bad apples. The men and women who protect communities of all colors and races deserve to be lauded, not defunded — and certainly not shot.
