The Biden administration has come under fire in recent days for attempting to cover up the grim conditions inside many of its border facilities, but Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is taking matters into his own hands to expose the truth.
Abbott launched an investigation on Saturday into the water supply for a location the Biden administration has opened for immigrant children following water quality problems at another facility.
“The Biden administration continues to show that it is dangerously unprepared to handle the surge in illegal border crossings as they rush to open yet another facility for unaccompanied minors in Texas,” Abbott said.
The Pecos, Texas, child migrant camp will be the fourth opened since President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January. The expansion follows the surge in immigration under Biden’s policy changes that saw more than 100,000 immigrants in February.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas released a statement last week to describe the current situation and government response. Mayorkas described the immigrant surge as a challenge, yet did not call it a crisis.
Abbott began the new water investigation after the migrant child camp in Midland was cited for undrinkable water. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has been tasked to lead the efforts.
“There’s no telling what could be in [the water], including the possibility of arsenic, so the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is evaluating the water, the running water,” Abbott noted regarding the Midland camp. “So there is no viable, usable running water at the location in Midland.”
The Biden Admin. has turned a humanitarian crisis into a complete disaster.

The rush to open the Pecos location will house at least 500 unaccompanied minors when open. The camp will have the capacity to hold 2,000 children when completed, according to a report from Fox News.
Abbott may not agree with the Biden administration’s immigration policies, but he has stood strong to provide a safe location for immigrant children. The difficult situation has led to political leaders from both sides to embrace a solution to help those in need.
