Ted Cruz says Biden’s comments wishing for ‘right’ verdict are grounds for ‘mistrial’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stated Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s public comments on the trial of Derek Chauvin could provide grounds for a mistrial or a possible basis on appeal.

“Joe Biden decides that Maxine Waters shouldn’t be the only politician foolishly providing grounds for a mistrial or a possible basis on appeal to challenge any guilty conviction,” Cruz tweeted Tuesday.

Biden had commented early Tuesday, ““I’m praying the verdict is the right verdict.” He added, “I think it is overwhelming in my view.”

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) attended a rally in Minnesota on Saturday. She stated “we’ve got to get more confrontational,” a claim many believe incites violence.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said he would take action against Waters if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) does not.

Pelosi refused to oppose the statements made by Waters. Republicans then moved to censure Waters, with the censure blocked by House Democrats.

Despite the ongoing conflict among House members, Cruz has a point. The interference by Democrat politicians may be used as the basis for a future appeal that would lead to another trial of Derek Chauvin.

The “RIGHT” verdict? Never before in our history has a sitting President played such an evil political game! By this he is saying he has already decided what the “right” decision is, even though the video clearly shows that nothing Officer CHAUVIN did would cause death. The death warrant noted the cause of death was FENTYNAL OVERDOSE! Blackmailing the jurors is the same thing that happened with the O.J. Simpson trial and should have been moved to another venue, free from the evil DEM party riot agitators! Without the riots, and in ANY OTHER VENUE HE WOULD BE FOUND INNOCENT! THIS IS WHY THEY FOUND HIM GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES! THROW ENOUGH MANURE AND HOPE SOME STICKS! IMMEDIATE RETRIAL IN A NEUTRAL VENUE! HE WILL BE FOUND INNOCENT! IF BLM WANT’S TO BURN DOWN MINNEAPOLIS I DON’T CARE, THEY WANT TO DEFUND THE POLICE? FINE, BUT DON’T EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO DO IT. YOU CAN BE OUR “EXPERIMENT” AND WE CAN THEN FOLLOW THE SCIENCE! (after your city is destroyed)

I watched the evidence provided by the prosecuting attorney and the defense attorney. I had reasonable doubt as to how much pressure was applied and that there was no evidence in the autopsy to suggest that unnecessary pressure was applied. also Floyd looked like he was partially on his side. when you are out of breath, you usually speak in a whisper. George Floyd was using full voice. I believe anxiety and the medication caused his enlarged heart to stop. I also believe that if any of the jurors had a doubt, that they were afraid to say so because of the fear of retaliation against them and their families.
