One-time Conservative star Carly Fiorina has made the shocking decision to betray Trump — and the entire Republican party — by announcing that she will vote for Joe Biden in the general election.
Fiorina ran for the Senate in 2010 as a Tea Party candidate. As her star rose, she launched a campaign for president in the 2016 election cycle. After her bid failed, she joined Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as his running mate in the same election.
In an interview with the Atlantic, published on Thursday, Fiorina made it clear that she won’t support Trump in any capacity, despite voting for him in 2016.
“I’ve been very clear that I can’t support Donald Trump,” Fiorina told The Atlantic. “And elections are binary choices,” indicating that she will not support a third-party candidate.
“I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person of humility and empathy and character. I think he’s demonstrated that through his life,” she said. “. . . When Biden talks about the soul of the nation, I think what he’s talking about is values and principles and character.
Fiorina once galvanized her base by championing pro-life causes and attempted to address Biden’s obvious pro-choice bent by claiming that part of being pro-life is addressing “systemic racism and structural racism,” which is the Democrat party’s primary platform issue this election cycle.
“If we care so deeply about unborn life—and I do, because I think every life has enormous potential and is gifted by God. And I think abortion is used discriminately against poor people and people of color—but if we care about life that’s unborn, we need to care about life that’s in this world too,” Fiorina said. Joe Biden has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood and several other militantly pro-abortion organizations.
Fiorina continued to explain that the nation needs a “leader” that can “unify the country.” She remarked: “I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person of humility and empathy and character. I think he’s demonstrated that through his life. And I think we need humility and empathy everywhere in public life right now. And I think character counts.”
