Supreme Court families receive police protection following recent leak

The Senate unanimously passed a bill on Monday to add additional police protection to family members of Supreme Court justices.

The legislation was passed following threats over the past week over a leaked Supreme Court ruling regarding a potential overturn of Roe v. Wade.

“Threats to the physical safety of the Supreme Court Justices and their families are disgraceful, and attempts to influence the independence of our judiciary cannot be tolerated,” Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn said in a statement.

“I’m glad the Senate quickly passed my bill to extend SCOTUS police protection to family members. “I am glad to see this bipartisan bill unanimously pass the Senate in order to extend security protection to the families of Supreme Court members.”

The new move also comes as three conservative Supreme Court justices have had abortion rights protesters arrive at their private residences.

The security shows how serious threats regarding abortion laws have become, as the left becomes the party willing to use violence and threats to get their way.
