‘Squad’ member Ilhan Omar opposes Biden’s Saudi oil plan

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar has spoken out against President Joe Biden’s plan to visit Saudi Arabia in an effort to encourage increased oil production.

“Our response to Putin’s immoral war shouldn’t be to strengthen our relationship with the Saudis who are currently causing the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet in Yemen,” Omar tweeted.

“Yemenis might not matter to some geopolitically but their humanity should,” Omar continued. “This is wildly immoral act.”

The congresswoman opposed the issue in a surprising way, however, as she emphasized the people of Yemen.

Saudi Arabia has opposed the Yemeni civil war and labeled the Houthi movement a terrorist group.

The new move shows that not all Democrats are in favor of President Joe Biden’s plan to visit the Middle East to find more oil as the nation continues to deal with soaring gas prices at home.
