Silk reveals Trump is covering Diamond's funeral expenses: 'This is what a president is supposed to do.'

Lynette "Diamond" Hardaway, 51, of the pro-Trump duo "Diamond and Silk," died unexpectedly at her North Carolina home earlier this month in an event many believed came much too soon.

Few would deny that Hardaway was one of former President Donald Trump's biggest supporters, as Ryan Ledendecker of The Western Journal pointed out.

Her sister Rochelle "Silk" Richardson revealed during a memorial service for Diamond on Saturday, the affection between Hardaway and Trump was mutual.

Not only did Trump heavily promote the ceremony for his friend on his Truth Social platform, but Richardson also took a moment during the ceremony to thank Trump for covering the cost of the celebration of life ceremony as well as whatever funeral arrangements Richardson thought were best for her dear sister.

“Silk talks about how DJT told her to have whatever she wants for Diamond's funeral and he would cover the costs. I love this man,” one Twitter user wrote.

“I got to tell this,” Richardson said. “And I pray and hope that it is OK with President Trump because, he does things and it don’t get out in public, and now that I have the world’s attention, I have to say this.”

“When I told him that Diamond had passed, he said, ‘ohhh,’ he was heartbroken. He said, ‘OK, we’re going to have a nice gathering for her, a nice funeral,’ and I said oh no we don’t have a body," the bereaved sister said.

"We followed her wishes and we cremated her. He said ‘OK, I want you to do whatever you want, I want you to have the best of whatever you want, and whatever you want Diamond would have, and I don’t want you to worry about paying for nothing,'” Richardson said.

Cheers and applause could be heard among those in attendance at that point during the ceremony, which was open to the public.

"That's what this man did for my sister!" Richardson shouted, pointing to Trump, who was seated to her left on the stage. “That’s what this man did for my sister! He didn’t waver. He didn’t think about it.”

Many social media users agreed, with one remarking on Twitter, "That's a good man. Whatever people say about Trump, I don't care. His good deeds are seldom recorded, and his bad behavior is usually exaggerated."

She drew attention to the sharp contrast between Trump and Vice President Joe Biden:

“This is what a president is supposed to do,” Richardson said, again pointing at Trump, drawing more cheers.

“See, Jim Crow Joe Biden ain’t called me yet. He ain’t gonna call me.”
