Sen. Rick Scott claims GOP will hold at least 52 Senate seats after election

Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott said he is confident that his party will hold at least 52 Senate seats after the November midterms.

Scott shared the comments on Sunday during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"My focus is on the hurricane relief, but absolutely I think we're at 52 seats-plus. If you look at Biden's numbers, they're really bad. People have rejected the Biden agenda," Scott said.

"We have great candidates. The Democrats have to defend what Biden has done. I think it will be a good November for Republicans, but we have to keep working hard every day," he added.

The interview focused largely on Hurricane Ian disaster relief, but also discussed other topics, including the coming midterms and abortion.

Scott's prediction will soon be put to the test as just over month remains until voters have their say regarding the shape of the Senate.
