Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) noted the possibility of a national abortion ban if Roe v. Wade is overturned by the Supreme Court.
McConnell shared the comments with USA Today in an interview.

“If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies — not only at the state level but at the federal level — certainly could legislate in that area,” McConnell said.
“So yeah, it’s possible. It would depend on where the votes were,” he added.

McConnell also shared his concern about the leaked Supreme Court opinion related to a pro-life case last week involving Justice Samuel Alito.
“By every indication, this was yet another escalation in the radical left’s ongoing campaign to bully and intimidate federal judges and substitute mob rule for the rule of law,” he wrote.
