Sen. Lindsey Graham turns silent on Biden’s Supreme Court nominee

South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has grown quiet regarding President Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, after meeting on Tuesday.

Graham and Brown met briefly in his Senate office ahead of her upcoming confirmation hearing.

“Just stay tuned for the hearing and I’ll tell you how I vote when I vote,” Graham said, according to The Hill. He declined to make any other comment.

Graham was among one of the three Republican senators who voted to confirm Jackson last year for her role in the federal appeals court.

Brown has twice been confirmed for other roles by the Senate, showing her ability to receive the votes needed for her new nomination.

Her next step will be Senate confirmation hearings, where senators will challenge her on a wide range of issues prior to a vote. If confirmed, Brown will become the first black female to serve on the nation’s highest court.
