With the November midterms fast approaching, a number of critically important Senate races will garner extra eyeballs, including Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) quest to keep his Iowa seat firmly red.
According to Breitbart, for now, it appears that Grassley is comfortably in charge of the lead over his Democratic opponent, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, Michael Franken. The latest polls give Grassley a near-double-digit lead.
The long-serving Grassley, even as his popularity slips somewhat, is supported in the latest Des Moines Register poll with 47% of Iowan voters. Franken has only managed to garner support from 39% of the state’s voters.
The survey added that 7% of Iowans are likely to vote for someone else completely, 2% aren’t voting at all, and 5% of Iowan voters remain undecided as a whole.
Grassley’s support, understandably, changes drastically when the results are separated into political parties. The long-serving senator is supported by 85% of Republican voters in the Hawkeye State. Franken is showing well for his party, with 88% of Democratic voters in the state saying they’ll back him in November.
Breitbart added: “Independent Iowans are virtually split between Grassley and Franken, with the incumbent receiving 37 support from Iowans and the challenger receiving 38 percent support. In addition, 14 percent of independents would vote for a third-party candidate.”
Franken is clearly remaining positive, with several tweets regarding the new poll, saying that the race is absolutely “winnable.”
This poll leaves no doubt about one thing: this race is winnable. Chuck Grassley knows he is in the fight of his life, which is why his campaign is grasping at straws and twisting the truth. https://t.co/GWNlO8jLHn pic.twitter.com/N7QyuuYbaP

As long as Grassley continues to stay above water in his approval polls, which he’s currently doing, he should be able to edge out a solid win. The key is not to get complacent because, in this political day and age, anything is possible.

I’ve made $84,000 so far this year working online and I’m a full time student. I’m using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. The potential with this is endless.
