Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) called on President Joe Biden to resign on Tuesday over his failed military departure from Afghanistan.
“Biden lied when he told Stephanopoulos no one advised him against his timeline-based withdrawal,” Blackburn tweeted on Tuesday.
“His recklessness resulted in the deaths of 13 US servicemembers and abandonment of countless citizens & allies. Biden can’t avoid the consequences of his actions. He must resign,” she added.

“The truth is President Biden knew all along the Afghanistan withdrawal was going to be a disaster for Americans abroad and our allies,” Blackburn added in another tweet.

The fiery posts came following a Senate hearing on Tuesday Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and head of U.S. Central Command Gen. Kenneth McKenzie. Both leaders made statements that seemed in contrast with those of Biden.
Blackburn isn’t alone in calling for Biden’s resignation. Nearly 40 lawmakers have made appeals for his resignation or impeachment following problems in Afghanistan.
