Rumors Pelosi won’t run in 2022

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) could be investigating the possibility of retirement, according to rumors circulating in Washington D.C.

According to a report by Breitbart News Congressional Democrats are beginning to make their plays to take control of the lower house of congress as the potential for a power vacuum looms.

Pelosi has not yet officially announced her retirement, however, she also hasn’t announced her reelection campaign as of yet and CNN reported Friday the House speaker might make good on her promise to vacate her seat if Democrats don’t retain the House.

“Everyone assumes this is her last term, but no one knows for sure,” one Pelosi individual close to the congresswoman told CNN. “People don’t realize how hard it was to win (the speaker’s race) last time. (Pelosi’s office denies that the race was difficult).”

Former top Pelosi staffer Nadeam Elshami also told CNN that she is keeping her plans close to the vest” and that “[n]o one knows” whether or not the Democrat powerhouse will run for reelection.

But Atlantic magazine published an article in August where they asserted that Pelosi was likely to resign from her leadership role in Washington:

“Sometime in the not-so-distant future, probably after next year’s midterm elections, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will announce that she’s stepping down” the publication reported.

Should the House speaker decide to run for another term, continuing her substantial Congressional career she would have an excessive amount of funding likely at her disposal, considering the substantial funding the congresswoman has raised over the past two decades, totaling more than $1 billion for the Democrat caucus.
