Robert F. Kennedy Jr. formally declares intentions to make a 2024 White House run

As the 2024 race for the White House intensifies, the Democratic Party has a new problem on its hands, one that has likely already stirred up a real storm in the halls of the White House.

According to USA Today, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. formally launched his bid for the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election. The news is devastating for the Democratic Party for a number of reasons.

One of those reasons is the already extremely apparent strength RFK Jr. has going into the race.

According to data from an exclusive USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, Kennedy already has support from an astonishing 14% of President Joe Biden's supporters. Given Biden's low polling numbers, that's 14% that he cannot afford to lose.

Even worse for Biden? As he continues to flush America down the toilet, it's highly likely that Kennedy's numbers will climb higher and higher.

The outlet noted:

In the survey taken Saturday through Tuesday, only 67% of Biden's 2020 supporters said they would support him for the Democratic nomination over his current challengers. Kennedy stands at 14%, and self-help author Marianne Williamson, a quixotic candidate for the nomination last time, is at 5%. Another 13% are undecided.

Even though RFK Jr. has been the subject of controversy on his side of the aisle, political analysts like David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, say that his early strong numbers cannot be ignored.

"In 2020, Joe Biden received more votes than any other president in U.S. history, yet the poll tells us that those same voters are open to other Democrats to wage a spirited primary," said Paleologos. "Kennedy, although a long shot at this point, starts in double digits and can't be ignored."

USA Today added:

He is the son of Robert F. Kennedy Sr., who was assassinated as he campaigned for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1968, and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy.

It was also reported this week that in the coming week, Biden's campaign team is preparing to make Biden's 2024 run official.

With both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris's polling numbers in the trash, it'll be fascinating to see how many Democratic challengers will step up to the plate seeking their shot in the sun.

Only time will tell, but the 2024 race will be interesting to watch on both sides.
