House Republicans are pushing for the impeachment of Biden Administration officials, according to The Washington Times.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has gone to the heart of the issue and introduced an impeachment resolution against President Joe Biden himself as well s Vice President Kamala Harris.
Boebert cited the recent withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan that left Americans and American allies behind in the Taliban-controlled Middle East nation as well as billions of dollars worth of military equipment.
The resolution against Biden was co-sponsored by fellow conservative Republican Reps. Andy Biggs, Jeff Duncan, Ralph Norman, Louie Gohmert and Jody Hice, while Mr. Norman co-sponsored the Harris filing.
“The Biden regime is not being held accountable,” said Ms. Boebert in a statement. “There have been no resignations, no indictments, no investigations, no congressional oversight, no outcry from the mainstream media, and no apologies—so I’m stepping up to hold Biden and Harris accountable by filing articles of impeachment for giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies and colluding with the Taliban.”
Bobert’s resolution is one of at least four that have been pointed at White House officials in the past two months by Republicans in the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.
Another group of Republicans filed articles of impeachment against Biden citing Afghanistan as well as the crisis at the border with Mexico and the extension of an evictions moratorium.
The earlier effort was lead by Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH), who also lead an impeachment effort against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas who claimed that the secretary was refusing to enforce immigration law.
