Republicans discover Joe Biden has not kept record of visitors to his Delaware home

Republicans are demanding answers as President Joe Biden's administration has no record of visitors to his Delaware home where he has spent nearly a quarter of his presidency, the Conservative Brief reported. These trips have cost taxpayers nearly $11 million, but no official word on who has met with Biden while there.

The New York Post had submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the U.S. Secret Service. It was denied after the agency claimed that visitor records simply do not exist for the place he spent 25% of his time as president.

"This search also produced no responsive records," Secret Service deputy director Faron Paramore wrote in a Sept. 27 letter to the news outlet. "Accordingly, your appeal is denied."

The president has vacationed at his residences in Rehobeth and Wilmington since taking office in 2021. In all, he has spent nearly 185 days during some 57 trips.

Taxpayers have footed the bill for the Secret Service and travel using Air Force One or Marine One for these trips. The cost to operate Air Force One and $177,842 per hour, and Marine One helicopter rides run between $17,065 and $20,206 per hour.

There have been 30 flights on the presidential plane and 71 on the official helicopter to bring Biden from the White House or Joint Base Andrews to Delaware. Considering each jaunt to Delaware is about a half-hour by plane and an hour by helicopter, transportation alone is in the millions.

Yet the Biden administration doesn't feel it's necessary to disclose the guests -- be it world leaders, business leaders, or lobbyists -- who may have accompanied him there. Republican lawmakers rightly don't believe this should stand.

"President Biden has spent a large amount of time at his Delaware residence since assuming office," Rep. James Comer (R-KY) pointed out. "Americans deserve to know who President Biden is meeting with, especially since we know that he routinely met with Hunter's business associates during his time as vice president," he added, hinting at his possible involvement in his son's scandals.

"The Biden Administration must provide transparency to the American people," Comer said. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was similarly outraged at the silence and isn't buying that there's no paper trail.

Mace asserted that everyone in "close proximity with the President, in an official or personal capacity, is screened by the Secret Service," meaning a record "exists somewhere." "It's bad if there is official business being conducted, and they aren't telling us with who," Mace contended.

"It's even worse the Administration is using the Secret Service to excuse its complete and total lack of transparency." The visitor logs from the White House have been released.

It's quite unbelievable that records from Delaware don't exist. Instead, it could be that Biden doesn't want the American people to know who had access to him there -- and worse, what he might have given away.
