Republican Tom McClintock reveals Biden administration has allowed 2.9 million illegal aliens into U.S.

Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) revealed that President Joe Biden's administration has allowed 2.9 million illegal aliens into the U.S. since his he took office two years ago, Breitbart reported. McClintock made these remarks during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday.

Biden has ramped up his administration's "catch and release" policy when it comes to illegal immigrants. This means migrants who enter the U.S. illegally are permitted to stay in the country while their case makes its way through the legal system in sort of a "parole pipeline."

Even though many are ineligible for asylum, they are granted work permits and other benefits while they wait. For the places they settle along the border, this means the cost of labor is driven down while house costs are driven up.

This effectively passes the economic burden onto the American taxpayers, often middle class themselves, who deal with the consequences. Still, the Biden administration is doubling down on this strategy.

McClintock believes the solution to this problem is more than just economic, however. "I think this discussion has brought out something that Border Patrol officers told me when I toured the border in the Yuma sector recently — ‘Don’t send us more money,’ they said," McClintock recounted. "'‘They’ll only use it to process illegals faster into this country.’"

"And I think that the testimony has been bringing that out very clearly today," the California Republican said. "Since Joe Biden canceled the Remain in Mexico policy and ordered ICE not to enforce court-ordered deportations, abandoned the border wall, and signaled to the world that America’s borders no longer mattered, we’ve seen 1.7 million illegal aliens deliberately admitted into this country and another 1.2 million known got-aways have entered while the Border Patrol has been overwhelmed changing diapers and taking names," McClintock said.

McClintock was referring to former President Donald Trump's policy that stipulated asylum seekers would need to wait in Mexico while their cases were processed, Fox News reported. The Biden administration sought to end the policy and done everything it can to add to the staggering numbers of people living in the U.S. illegally.

"Now that is an illegal alien population of 2.9 million," McClintock continued. "That is the entire population of the state of Mississippi just since this administration changed these policies and precipitated this crisis," he added.

"And as the Democrats’ witness testified, illegal aliens are now being rapidly and efficiently trafficked by our government to every community in our nation," McClintock said. The lawmaker pointed out that these illegal immigrants are being sent from border cities into the interior of the U.S., where they could fall off the legal radar.

Some Republican governors have pushed back on this practice that forces state governments to deal with the problem created by the federal government. For instance, Texas GOP Gov. Gregg Abbott sent busloads of migrants to Washington, D.C., Chicago, and New York to share the responsibility, NBC News reported.

Similarly, Gov. Ron DeSantis infamously sent planeloads of illegal immigrants from Florida up to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. Democrats cried foul against the Sunshine State Republican and claimed it was a political stunt at the expense of the migrants being moved around the country.

Instead, it was the perfect illustration of the absurdity of these places that claim to be "sanctuary cities" while border cities take the financial and social brunt.  "States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as 'sanctuary states' and support for the Biden Administration's open border policies," DeSantis' communications director Taryn Fenske said last summer.

Perhaps allowing border crossers to stay wouldn't be so impactful if Biden wasn't also opening the floodgates to take all comers, the Texas Tribune reported. The fiscal year 2022 saw a record-breaking 2.4 million encounters between Border Patrol and migrants suggesting the problem is obviously out of hand.

Biden has to get control of illegal immigration before the nation comes to its breaking point. However, it seems that Biden has no interest in solving the problem at all -- and in fact, he's doing everything he can to make it worse.
