Former President Donald Trump got good news in the form of a survey which showed he would take the prize in a hypothetical 2024 matchup with President Joe Biden for control of the White House.
According to Breitbart News, the former president would win out over the current president with likely voters if the 2024 election were going on today.
The survey, taken August 30 to September 1, 2021, among 1,200 registered voters, offered participants several hypothetic 2024 pairings, and the former president just barely edged out Biden with a result of 47 to 46.
“Historically, this data reminds me of 1912 when Teddy Roosevelt failed to win the Republican nomination from then President Taft and created a third party dooming the Republican chances against Woodrow Wilson,” Spencer Kimball, Director of Emerson College Polling, said in a statement.
“This data suggests that Republicans want either Trump or a Trumpian candidate to be their nominee, or half of them may split from the party,” he added.
Emerson College released the results of their survey this week which showed that not only would former president Trump likely win against Biden, but offered several other interesting scenarios as well.
When paired against Never Trumper Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) in the Republican and Democratic hot seats, Biden kept his position with a lead of 42-23 percent.
Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), however, did a little. better than Romney and showed a fighting chance of catching up with the current president.
Though the former president has not firmly announced whether he plans to run in 2024, he has continued his famous rallies, stumping for conservatives across the nation and has remained vocal on key issues facing the American people.
