Nancy Pelosi’s select House committee on Jan. 6 has requested records from a number of prominent people and groups, including leaders in the Trump White House.
“Among the voluminous requests, the committee is seeking 9 months worth of contacts between the Trump WH and this group of outsiders, including Enrique Tarrio, George Papadopoulos and Jack Posobiec,” reporter Kyle Cheney tweeted.

Pelosi’s massive information request apparently seeks to draw out the committee’s effort until at least 2022. The records include up to nine months of communications from numerous key individuals that would take months to investigate.
Critics argue Pelosi continues to press the committee’s efforts as a political strategy to make Republicans look bad entering the 2022 midterm elections and beyond.
Others see a more sinister plan that includes an effort to find former President Donald Trump at fault to disqualify him from running for president again in 2024.
The request for information comes shortly after the FBI reported there was little evidence of an organized plot in the Jan. 6 Capitol events.
“[T]he FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations,” Reuters reported.
