Leading up to the 2020 election, there was plenty of speculation throughout the mainstream media and their Democrat allies in Congress about whether or not President Donald Trump would willingly leave the White House on January 20 if he lost the election.
According to Fox News, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) revealed that not only is she excited about Trump leaving the White House, but said that she plans to “pull him out of there by his hair, his little hands and his feet.”
Trump has already pledged to peacefully leave the White House when and if the Electoral College vote is certified by Congress, so America, unfortunately, won’t be able to witness Pelosi attempting to pull the president out of the Oval Office, as fun as it would be to see her try.
The bizarre comment came over the weekend, as Pelosi spoke with her leadership team during the heated, last-minute negotiations for the COVID-19 relief bill. “I’m counting down the hours ‘til he’s gone,” Pelosi told her team.
Pelosi’s remarks further showcased the icy relationship she’s had with Trump through the bulk of his presidency. According to the Washington Examiner, after the 2018 midterms when Pelosi was installed as Speaker in the newly-Democrat-controlled Congress, the relationship was even more distanced, with Pelosi not even speaking to the president for over a year.
However, there may be a new — only if temporary — bond between the two bitter political rivals, which Pelosi made clear in a Twitter post after the president demanded that the $900 billion COVID-19 relief package, which was filled with ridiculous amounts of pork and only a paltry $600 direct payment to Americans, be sent back to Congress.
Trump asked Congress to not only get rid of the massive amounts of foreign spending but said he’ll only sign off on the bill if Congress allows for at least a $2,000 stimulus check for struggling Americans. Pelosi was quick to agree with the president’s numbers.
“Republicans repeatedly refused to say what amount the President wanted for direct checks. At last, the President has agreed to $2,000 — Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent. Let’s do it!” Pelosi tweeted on Tuesday.
Several progressive lawmakers, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders also enthusiastically agreed with Pelosi’s approval of Trump’s new $2,000 check number.
