House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has become a problem for House Democrats according to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
The NRCC released a letter on Monday that found Pelosi holds a 60 percent disapproval rating among voters “from the ticket-splitting districts” won by former President Donald Trump in 2020.
“Republicans continue to be in position to flip the House,” the letter read.
Democrat problems include more than Pelosi. The survey also found “Voters trust Republicans over Democrats in Congress on jobs and the economy by +5.”
Despite President Joe Biden’s claims not to tax Americans making less than $400,000 per year, “Voters do not believe the Democrats’ false promises that Biden’s proposed tax increases will just be on the wealthy.”
The letter noted immigration has become the most important issue to American voters. Democrats struggled in this area, as, “Independents trust Republicans over Democrats to handle the issue of immigration by +16.”
The immigration problems during Biden’s term have led to a sharp decrease in his approval rating. More American voters are now concerned over the border than the pandemic.
This survey was conducted April 18–21, 2021 among 1,000 voters across 85 Battleground Congressional Districts.
