Report: Los Angeles mayor knew about former aide’s sexual misconduct

Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Eric Garcetti likely knew about his former advisor’s sexual misconduct, a Senate report claimed.

The advisor, Rick Jacobs, was allegedly widely known for his sexual misconduct, according to the report.

“By all accounts, Mr. Jacobs’ behavior was widely known and talked about. It was pervasive, widespread, and notorious — to the point that Mr. Jacobs sexually harassed someone in front of the Mayor for a picture that would be memorialized for all time,” the report, released by Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, said.

“We conclude that Mayor Garcetti likely knew or should have known that Rick Jacobs was sexually harassing multiple individuals and making racist comments towards others,” it added.

The report could be a problem for Garcetti’s bid to become America’s ambassador to India.

The decision is still to be made, but the report shows at least one major concern to consider ahead of the move regarding a key ambassador decision.
