Report: Kamala Harris is regularly briefed on border situation despite refusing to take responsibility for role

Vice President Kamala Harris receives regular briefing regarding the immigration crisis, despite not taking responsibility for it, according to a new CNN report.

“A White House official told CNN that administration officials regularly brief Harris on the border,” the outlet reported on Tuesday.

“She’s asking for a lot of information. … She’s reaching out to a lot of groups to get the best information and to really go in with a sense of who is who and the sense of how can they — the administration — move the agenda,” the source said, highlighting the vice president’s upcoming visit to Guatemala.

Harris was tasked by President Joe Bident in March to lead the nation’s responded to the nation’s southern border. Later reports narrowed her focus to the “root causes” of migration.

The vice president has yet to visit the nation’s southern border, nor plans to do so in the near future. She has also not held a press conference on immigration in more than 70 days.

Instead, Harris has proposed American investment into other Western Hemisphere countries to encourage economic growth and reduce migration.

“We have to give people some sense of hope that if they stay, that help is on the way,” she explained about her plan. “It’s not going to be solved overnight; it’s a complex issue. If this were easy, it would’ve been handled years ago,” Harris said, according to Breitbart News.

The vice president continues to lead the immigration response, but the efforts have failed to slow illegal immigrants from crossing the border.
