The American military is paying special attention to construction by China who is believed to be installing its third missile field for intercontinental ballistic missiles according to The Washington Times.
The field is believed to be constructed to hold more than 100 new DF-41 ICBMs according to satellite imagery shared across several U.S. intelligence agencies and reported on by multiple news outlets.
Within the last several weeks these images have confirmed that their field will likely be similar in size to the two existing missile fields, according to Pentagon officials familiar with the subject.
“We are witnessing a strategic breakout by China,” Adm. Charles Richard, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, told a missile defense conference in Alabama.
“The explosive growth in their nuclear and conventional forces can only be what I described as breathtaking,” he said, adding that “frankly, that word ‘breathtaking’ may not be enough.”
The admiral said that the two existing fields include silos for over 100 nuclear land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles, and he believes there may be more missile bases under construction.
Americans, especially conservatives, have voiced their concern over both China’s growing military force and what is believed to be a deep connection to the Biden administration.
Due to their status as a clear super nuclear power, the threat to the sovereignty of other nation’s, should the nation become unstable, expanded to the far reaches of the globe.
