Just about everything the left tried to silence about COVID-19 has come out as factual. Now it appears even the White House is on board for the theories about the virus’s origin.
A new report reveals that an increasing number of senior White House officials believe in the once-derided theory that COVID-19 leaked from lab in Wuhan, China, according to Fox News. The official story remains that the virus naturally mutated to make an interspecies leap.
Many who suspected the virus may have originated and escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China were called kooks and conspiracy theorists. However, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization, recently naysayers “premature” in their dismissal of the theory.
On Thursday, Ghebreyesus urged the country’s communist government to turn over “direct information on what the situation of these labs was before and at the start of the pandemic.” Other officials in the administration have similarly called on China to allow inspectors to examine data from the lab at the time of the outbreak.
President Donald Trump was excoriated and called xenophobic for advancing the lab-leak theory early in the pandemic. Any mention of this theory was labeled misinformation, with Big Tech companies like Facebook and Google actively suppressing any mention of it on their platforms, Fox News said in a separate report.
Some surprising critics of that decision have come forward, including “Real Time” host Bill Maher who called their suppression of this theory “outrageous.”He also zeroed in on other censored topics related to the virus.
“Facebook banned any post for four months about COVID coming from a lab,” he said during a panel discussion last month. “Of course now, even the Biden administration is looking into this,” he said.
Maher explained how Big Tech’s rationale about preventing information from non-government agencies about the virus was itself the problem. “The WHO has been very corrupt about a lot of s— and the CDC has been wrong about a lot of s—,” he charged. “This is outrageous that I can’t look this information up.”
He went on to take aim at another effort to censor information about a potentially helpful drug, ivermectin. “YouTube should not be telling me what I can see about ivermectin,” Maher said. “Ivermectin isn’t a registered Republican, it’s a drug. I don’t know if it works or not and a lot of other doctors don’t either.”
The full story may or may not come out someday about the origins of the virus. Either way, Americans are now acutely aware that their government, aided by Big Tech oligarchs, are pulling the strings to manipulate what information gets through — certainly on the pandemic, and who knows what else.
