Once again sounding the alarm about what he believes are President Joe Biden’s worsening symptoms of cognitive decline, former White House physician-turned-congressman, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) declared on Friday that it is well past time for the commander in chief to resign.
Taking to Twitter, Jackson emphasized the dangers posed by the ongoing conflict in Europe and the need for competent leadership at home, saying, “Biden doesn’t know what’s going on with Ukraine. He doesn’t know what’s going on with ANYTHING! He’s not cognitively capable of leading. He needs to RESIGN before our country suffers any more.”
Friday’s tweet was far from the first time Jackson has raised red flags about Biden’s mental acuity and his capacity to steer the ship of state, recently sending a letter to the president signed by a sizable group of GOP House colleagues requesting that he undergo a comprehensive cognitive assessment.
That correspondence referenced a series of incidents Jackson believes are indicative of cognitive decline, confusion, personality shifts, and forgetfulness, and it also cited a series of poll results revealing substantial doubts among the American electorate about Biden’s mental fitness to serve.
Shortly after sending that letter, Jackson spoke to Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney, as Breitbart reported, highlighting his own experiences serving as White House physician during the Obama and Trump administrations and underscoring the dire nature of the current situation.
“I was there for 14 years as the White House physician. I know exactly what it takes mentally and physically to do that job, and I think it’s on full display for everybody in the country and everybody in this world to see right now that President Biden does not have the cognitive ability to do his job right now. He’s continued to get worse and worse,” Jackson opined.
Speaking to Fox News Digital in February, just prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Jackson warned that Biden’s cognitive failings were “on full display during the debacle in Afghanistan” and posited that the president was poised to “get more Americans killed” and “ultimately get us in a war because of his lack of leadership.”
That Biden is still occupying the Oval Office may be something of an unpleasant surprise for Jackson, who predicted last summer that the president would likely resign or be removed from office via the 25th Amendment due to the fact that [t] here’s something going on here…and I’ve been saying that it’s only going to get worse… .”
Amid war in Europe, skyrocketing energy costs, and raging inflation here at home, Jackson is right that the country needs and deserves a leader whose mental faculties are intact, but as of now, it seems unlikely that Biden or his handlers will heed the doctor’s advice and do the right thing for the citizenry and indeed the world.
