Rep. Jamaal Bowman pleads guilty to pulling fire alarm at Capitol

The embarrassment continues for the radical progressive "Squad," as one of their own, New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman, is finally facing justice for his ridiculously immature fire alarm stunt.

According to the New York Post, Bowman finally turned himself in and pleaded guilty to one count of falsely pulling a fire alarm at the Capitol last month.

As a condition of his surrender, he agreed to pay a $1,000 fine. He also agree to write an apology letter to the Capitol Police chief for the childish stunt.

In exchange for the fine and the apology letter, the prosecutor agreed to have Bowman's charges dropped in three months, but only if he doesn't commit any other offenses.

In Washington D.C., a charge of falsely pulling a fire alarm can mean up to a maximum of six months in prison.

Bowman continued to insist that he didn't pull the alarm to delay a vote on a government shutdown last month, though plenty of video evidence exists to the contrary. He issued a statement in the wake of the guilty charge.

“I’m thankful for the quick resolution from the D.C. Attorney General’s office on this issue and grateful that the United States Capitol Police General Counsel’s office agreed I did not obstruct nor intend to instruct any House vote or proceedings," Bowman said.

However, Capitol Police disputed his remarks, saying, "Our General Counsel did not, nor anyone in our Department, make that determination. We sent the thoroughly investigated case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and prosecutors there did not pursue it."

As many pointed out on social media, the video evidence that shows Bowman removing signs and pulling the alarm clearly shows that he was up to no good.

Bowman added, "I am responsible for activating a fire alarm, I will be paying the fine issued, and I look forward to these charges being ultimately dropped."

The doors and the fire alarm in the part of the Capitol where he pulled it were marked, "Emergency Exit Only Push Until Alarm Sounds (3 Seconds) Door Will Unlock in 30 Seconds."

Bowman is just another Squad clown who got caught -- and wildly embarrassed -- for pulling a juvenile stunt that served no purpose.
