Rep. Greene, other Republicans, call for DA Alvin Bragg's arrest over Trump case

Finally, some of the few brave Republicans in Congress are stepping up and calling out Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's pathetic witch hunt case against former President Donald Trump.

One of those lawmakers includes Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who, multiple times, has now called for Bragg's arrest, the New York Post reported.

Greene accused Bragg of using the case purely as a weaponized political tool to go after Republicans like Trump, who stands the best chance, poll-wise as of this writing, to win the GOP nomination. She held nothing back in her accusation.

"He (Bragg) should be arrested. You want to know why? We have to stop allowing Democrats to abuse us. It’s like we are a beaten spouse. We need to stand up to the abuse because they are the ones committing crimes," Greene said.

"Now it’s time to arrest Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for prosecutorial misconduct after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence!

She added, "Bragg is on the verge of indicting an innocent former President and top Presidential candidate against the opposing ruling party. Bragg is breaking the law and trying to incite civil unrest with his Soros funded political war. Hold him accountable!" Greene tweeted last week.

The Post noted that it was unclear exactly what Greene meant, specifically, regarding her claim of exculpatory evidence, but pointed out that it was like a large trove of emails that attorney Robert Costello said proves Michael Cohen was lying.

The outlet added:

Costello, a Trump loyalist who testified on Monday before the Manhattan grand jury convened by Bragg, says the district attorney has only allowed jurors to see six of those emails.

"If the grand jury gets to see the other 315 emails, he probably lied to us another 50 to 100 times … He’d say one thing in one email, and the opposite thing in another email … You have to see all the evidence. And I was pushing very hard for that. I told the grand jury, ‘You can’t believe Michael Cohen,’" Costello said during a recent radio interview, and several news programs.

Bragg's case, many experts believe, has already fallen apart at what were already weak seams.

While hype and speculation built earlier this month that Trump was to be indicted any day, the case experienced several mysterious delays, fueling speculation that it's not going where Bragg and his Democratic allies presumably want it to go.

Greene isn't the only member of Congress now calling for an investigation into Bragg and his imprisonment. Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul shared the same message recently.

"A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail," Paul wrote, according to a separate New York Post piece.
