‘QAnon Shaman’ sentenced to 41 months over Jan. 6 involvement

Jacob Chansley, known as the QAnon Shaman who wore a fur helmet with horns and walked bare chested through the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Chansley “pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding” according to The Associated Press.

He is one of about 650 people charged in connection with the events of Jan. 6. About 120 have pleaded guilty.

However, Chansley’s sentence is among the harshest handed out following the day’s events. In addition, he will be on probation for three additional years and required to pay $2,000 in restitution.

The judge dropped other charges in a plea deal, but also noted that “what you did was horrific.”

The man most recognizable for the events of Jan. 6 will now be known as the person spending the most time in jail over the day’s events.
