Psaki won’t say whether Biden would accept overturn of Roe v. Wade

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki avoided answering whether President Joe Biden would accept the overturn of Roe v. Wade as legitimate in response to a question from a reporter on Wednesday.

Psaki made the remarks during Wednesday’s daily White House press briefing.

“Well, I can’t speak for what actions could be possible on the legal front, I would point you to the Department of Justice on that,” Psaki said.

“What I can tell you will happen is — and this is what we are preparing for the possibility of — that if Roe were to fall, abortion would probably be illegal in about half the states in the country, up to 26 states,” she added.

The response comes as the Biden administration deals with the fallout of a leaked report on Monday night of Justice Samuel Alito’s opinion regarding a Mississippi pro-life case that could return decisions regarding abortions to individual states.

The leak itself is a major problem for the Supreme Court. Psaki’s response reveals many other problems also associated with the upcoming decision.
