President Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr have enjoyed a cordial and close working relationship since Barr’s appointment to the post in 2018, but it appears that election disputes and new revelations about Hunter Biden may have completely undone their connection.
News broke earlier this week that the Justice Department kept investigations into Hunter Biden’s finances secret during the election cycle, and President Trump let loose on Barr in a series of tweets on Saturday complaining about Barr’s refusal to follow up on allegations against the younger Biden.
“IF Biden gets in, nothing will happen to Hunter or Joe,” Trump lamented on Twitter. “Barr will do nothing, and the new group of partisan killers coming in will quickly kill it all.”
Trump also took a shot at US attorney John Durham, who was appointed to investigate the origins of the Russia collusion probe launched by Obama administration partisans. Durham still has yet to release any significant findings from the lengthy investigation.
“Same thing with Durham,” Trump continued. “We caught them cold, spying, treason & more (the hard part), but ‘Justice’ took too long. Will be DOA!”
Trump turned his ire back to Barr, remarking:
Why didn’t Bill Barr reveal the truth to the public, before the Election, about Hunter Biden. Joe was lying on the debate stage that nothing was wrong, or going on – Press confirmed. Big disadvantage for Republicans at the polls!
Over a month post-election, it’s become very clear that there was a concentrated media effort to suppress any buzz about Joe Biden’s family’s overseas activities during the elder Biden’s tenure as vice president.
Now that it’s becoming clear that Biden will take the White House, new evidence against Hunter Biden is curiously floating to the surface.
To add insult to injury, Barr reportedly knew of the accusations against Hunter Biden long before October’s bombshell revelations from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop.
According to the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Barr purposely shielded knowledge of federal investigations into Hunter Biden from the public for months to avoid interfering in the election. Barr has neither confirmed nor denied the report at this time.
