President Biden caught bragging about plan to stop Trump from ever taking power

President Joe Biden boasted that he would stop former President Donald Trump from retaking power using any "legitimate" means in the Constitution, the Political Insider reported. The president said this during a news conference following the midterm elections.

A reporter had asked Biden about how he could "reassure" world leaders that Trump "will not return or that his political movement, which is still very strong, will not once again take power in the United States." Biden laughed before giving his answer.

"Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run," Biden said. "I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again."

Biden did not elaborate on what powers he would invoke to make sure Trump doesn't try to unseat him in 2024. However, the prospect is becoming shakier by the day.

Although Biden will be 82 when he takes office for his second term, the president has made it clear he wishes to run for reelection. When asked about the two-thirds who believe he shouldn't, Biden said, "Watch me."

However, the more relevant question is whether Trump will be a formidable candidate by then. Following the disappointment of the red wave that never was, Trump has taken to lashing out at Republicans.

Some expect that this is to take out his future opponents early, but the usual Trump methods are increasingly falling flat. The former president took aim at Virginia GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin Friday, whom he previously endorsed, Fox News reported.

"Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me," Trump boasted on his social media platform TruthSocial. "I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn’t have come close to winning."

"But he knows that, and admits it," Trump added. "Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he’ll get it done!"

Youngkin has been stumping nationwide for other Republicans, signaling a possible 2024 presidential run. This may have been enough to put Trump on the offensive against him.

This latest attack comes just after Trump targeted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with the moniker "Ron DeSanctimonious." Both Republican governors are popular with Trump's base, but DeSantis is the next big hope of the party after he won reelection by nearly 20 points, Politico reported.

Trump paved the way for DeSantis and other strong, unapologetically Republican candidates. However, if he's not going to help more get elected, he needs just to step aside.
