A new poll has shown the majority of likely voters, including more than 40 percent of Democrats, don’t think Vice President Kamala Harris is ready to become president.
The poll of 1,000 likely voters conducted July 12 and 13 by the Trafalgar Group and the Convention of States four more than 63 percent of Americans do not agree Harris ready for the job, along with 43 percent of Democrats.
“Our last poll found that most Americans don’t believe Joe Biden is actually running the country, and today we’re learning voters think Kamala Harris’ tenure as Vice President has been a disaster, and she’s absolutely not ready to step in and take his place,” Mark Meckler, president of the Convention of States, said, according to Breitbart News.
“Washington, D.C., has never been more radically out of step with the will of the American people than right now.”
The poll asked, “Based on her performance as Vice President, how confident are you that Kamala Harris is ready to be President?” The percentage of those who selected “not confident at all” was 58.6 and “not very confident” at 5 percent.
Confidence level among Democrats was most surprising. A whopping 35.7 percent reported they were “not confident at all” in Harris as presidnet, along with 6.9 percent who were “not very confident.”
The poll’s results come as Harris has faced criticisms in many areas. In addition to attacks over her handling of the immigration crisis, she has also been the source of a report of her leading a “toxic” work environment.
The survey also shows the weakness in Harris as a leader when more people are questioning President Joe Biden’s health. The concerns are likely to continue as the nation races toward the midterm elections and the 2024 presidential battle.
