A new Trafalgar Group poll released on Monday showed more Americans believe rising inflation is the fault of President Joe Biden rather than former President Donald Trump.
When asked, “Who do you hold most responsible for rising inflation?” 39.0 percent blamed Biden. Only 17.7 percent named Trump. Another 14.4 percent believed Congress was responsible and 17.9 percent did not know.

Viewed by political party, the poll showed Democrats hold Biden more responsible than Trump for inflation by 5.8 percent. Republicans held Biden responsible by a greater margin of 52.7 percent.
The Trafalgar Group poll was conducted June 6-7 with 1,073 respondents of likely voters.
The poll followed recent reports of rising inflation since Biden has taken office. Prices in May rose five percent over May 2020, according to a Forbes report.
The report noted gas prices have increased a whopping 56 percent over a year ago, with other areas like housing and car prices also experiencing sharp price hikes.
Inflation is rising despite the receding pandemic. With Trump now long-gone from office, Americans see the problem as largely due to the policies of Biden.
