The majority of Americans in a CBS News poll agreed President Joe Biden is not competent to lead the nation.
Only 49 percent of those surveyed agreed Biden is competent in his actions as president. More than half, 51 percent, agree he is not competent.
In addition, 57 percent said the word “unifying” does not describe Biden. Only 43 percent agreed the word did.
Biden’s weakest area in the survey included questions regarding his handling of Afghanistan. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the U.S. removing its troops from Afghanistan?” more than two-thirds, or 63 percent, agreed.
However, when asked if they disapproved because of the removal of the U.S. troops should have been handled better, 70 percent agreed.
When asked, “Whether or not you agree with removing U.S. troops from Afghanistan, do you think the way that the U.S. has
handled the removal has gone…” 74 percent selected badly or very badly.
In addition, 60 percent of those surveyed agreed the Taliban’s control of Afghanistan increases the threat of terrorism against the U.S. Only four percent agreed it would decrease, with 36 percent agreeing it would stay the same.
The survey of 2,142 American adults revealed many Americans are concerned over Biden’s leadership. This is especially true regarding the president’s handling of Afghanistan, an area that continues to anger Americans.
