Nothing gets leftist politicians more riled up than an attempt to protect the unborn. After being thoroughly triggered by a Texas law, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will join the crusade to keep feticide legal.
Pelosi has promised to propose legislation to officially enshrine the right to abortion into U.S. law, Fox News reported. This is in response to a “heartbeat” bill recently passed in Texas and unchallenged by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 against granting an emergency stay to prevent the Texas law from going into effect. Although it was the right decision, it was done on procedural grounds and is open to further challenges. Still, it has become a rallying cry for those who wish to keep abortion legal.
“When we go back to Washington, we will be putting Roe v. Wade codification on the floor of the House, to make sure that women everywhere have access to the reproductive health that they need,” Pelosi told reporters at a news conference. The Women’s Health Protection Act H.B. 3755 bill would prevent states from passing laws limiting abortion.
The current Texas law implemented Sept. 1 prohibits abortion once fetal heart activity is detected. The medical community recognizes that cutoff to be about six weeks into pregnancy or shortly after the mother’s first missed period.
Those opposed to the Lone Star state’s bill call it an attack on “women’s healthcare” because many women are not yet aware they’re pregnant by the time the fetal heartbeat begins and could miss the legal window to kill their children. Advocates who support restrictions on abortion rightly recognize that the human being in the womb deserves the right to life regardless of the mother’s feelings or knowledge of its existence.
Like fellow Democrat President Joe Biden, Pelosi claims to be Roman Catholic despite supporting issues like the homosexual agenda and abortion that are explicitly forbidden in her professed religion. Still, neither politician has any qualms about publicly advocating for ways to make it easier for mothers to kill their babies in utero.
The reason that Roe v. Wade stands alone is because it’s a well-known fact that a federal bill legalizing abortion would be dead on arrival (pun intended). Leftists only have the decades-old Supreme Court decision to cling to, but they still will fight tooth and nail to make sure nothing gets in the way of murdering babies — even if it means grandstanding with unpopular legislation.
