House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) to resign on Tuesday after an investigation revealed he sexually harassed multiple women.
“Under Attorney General Letitia James, a comprehensive and independent investigation into the allegations against Governor Cuomo has been completed,” Pelosi said in a statement.
“As always, I commend the women who came forward to speak their truth.
“Recognizing his love of New York and the respect for the office he holds, I call upon the Governor to resign,” she added.

Pelosi became the highest-ranking Democrat to call for Cuomo’s resignation. President Joe Biden also answered, “Yes,” when asked if Cuomo should resign, but made no official statement regarding the matter.
The House Speaker’s statement was also part of a long list of Democrats calling for Cuomo to resign. Several Republicans have also spoken in favor of his removal.
The investigation has made it clear Cuomo is unfit for office. The question is whether he will step down on his own or if the state will be forced to impeach him or leave the decision to voters at the next election.
