Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) pulled the trigger on a press release Tuesday afternoon to instruct Democratic members of the House how to behave and what to do in the January 6th joint session of Congress to count the electoral college votes for the 2020 election.
According to The Epoch Times, 77 House Republicans and 13 Republican Senators have promised to bring objections to electoral votes from disputed battleground states. Each objection must have one sponsor from each chamber of Congress and must be submitted in written form.
When the objection to a state’s electoral votes is submitted, the House and the Senate then debate the objection for up to two hours in their separate chambers.
Pelosi assigned high-ranking Democrats Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and Joe Neguse (D-CO) to lead the debate in the House along with the disputed state’s delegations.
The state delegations and our leaders – Representatives Zoe Lofgren, Jamie Raskin, Adam Schiff and Joe Neguse – have been working on our Democratic presentation of the Constitutional, historical and thematic justification for respecting the will of the people.
Democrats are no strangers to the process because they have done it every time a Republican wins the White House since 2001. Now, Republicans will object to certifying the electoral votes from states with significant suspicion of election fraud.
Republican objectors are down by one as Senator Kelly Loeffler, who promised to join the objection, lost her senate seat in Georgia’s runoff election on Tuesday to radical Democrat Raphael Warnock.
Democrats have the advantage on January 6th, as they present a united front against the objections. Republicans are splintered and lack leadership, as many Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel refuse to join the effort to object. McConnell is even considering granting debate time to Republican Senators that don’t support the objections.
