Never hesitating to capitalize on their advantages, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are ordering Vice President Mike Pence and President Trump’s cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment to remove the president.
President Trump only has 12 days left in the White House, but that is 12 days too many for Pelosi and Schumer, the top two Democrat leaders that maintained a four-year war and never, ever, accepted that Trump won the White House in 2016 with 306 electoral college votes.
Drunk with her increasing power, Pelosi is actually threatening impeachment if Pence does not do her bidding. She said:
If the vice president and the cabinet do not act, the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment.
It’s a simple matter in terms of the Constitution, the vice president working with the cabinet, can immediately improve the security of our country…While there’s only 13 days left, any day can be a horror show for America.
Pelosi and Schumer are full of vim and vigor after successfully avoiding most of the debate on election fraud in the 2020 election in the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6. Now, they are pressing their advantage and insisting it is too dangerous to allow President Trump another day in office.
Schumer, Pelosi, the Democrat establishment, and the mainstream media are blaming President Trump for inciting violence and causing the breach of the Capitol building during the joint session of Congress to count the electoral votes to certify the 2020 election on Wednesday. Schumer argued that the president incited insurrection:
What happened at the U.S. Capitol yesterday was an insurrection against the United States, incited by President Trump. This president must not hold office one day longer.
The quickest and most effective way—it can be done today—to remove this president from office would be for the Vice President to immediately invoke the 25th amendment. If the Vice President and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress must reconvene to impeach President Trump.
Chuck Schumer is headed for the powerful Senate Majority Leader’s office after Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff won their runoff elections in Georgia. Republicans will have to wait till 2022 to attempt to reclaim the majority in the Senate.
It is unlikely that Vice President Mike Pence will give in to Schumer’s and Pelosi’s demands. According to Independent, House members are drawing up articles of impeachment for “abuse of power” claiming that the president “engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanors by wilfully inciting violence against the government of the United States.”
Congressmen David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Jamie Raskin of Maryland, and Ted Lieu of California have drafted documents to impeach Mr Trump for “abuse of power”, the same nominal charge levied against him when the House impeached him for the first time in December 2019.
“Squad” Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), along with other Democrats are sponsoring the resolution to impeach Trump.
