Only 29% of Americans believe Biden will run for second term

A new poll released on Tuesday showed that only 29% of Americans believe President Joe Biden will seek a second term in office.

The Wall Street Journal poll noted 52% believe Biden will not run for reelection, while 19% are undecided about Biden’s future plans.

Even among Democrats in the poll, just 41 percent believe Biden will run for president in 2024. The Journal also noted that its sources indicate that Biden has not made a decision regarding a run for reelection.

Biden’s low poll number could play a factor in whether he runs again.

In addition, the aging president would be 82 at the start of his second term, making him the oldest president in U.S. history. Some have argued he is not “cognitively fit” for office.

The decision will be made likely near the end of this year, making, which could lead to an exciting political season following the November midterms.
