Oklahoma DA goes after rioters with terrorism charges

Some liberal-led states and cities are allowing violence and riots to take over, but one Oklahoma District Attorney isn’t playing those games.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said on Friday that he’s issuing hefty terrorism charges against rioters in his jurisdiction.

“This is not Seattle,” he told the Oklahoman. “We’re not putting up with this lawlessness here.”

Leaders in Seattle, Washington, have allowed radicals to take over roughly six blocks of the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Activists cordoned off the area on June 8th, refusing entrance to any law enforcement officers for weeks. On Monday morning, a gunfight in the area took the life of one man and placed another in critical condition.

This isn’t the first death in the “Occupied Protest,” as radicals have named it. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkin finally agreed to dismantle the zone, but not before several deaths and additional life-threatening injuries.

Prater isn’t going to let that happen in his county, though. The Washington Examiner reported:

Prater leveled strict charges against many of those who were arrested during the protests. Isael Antonio Ortiz, 21, Eric Christopher Ruffin, 26, and Malachai Davis, 18, were hit with terrorism charges after police alleged that Ortiz burned an Oklahoma County sheriff’s van during protests on May 30.

Ruffin is accused of encouraging “wanton destruction” by streaming Ortiz on a Facebook Live post in which he was also heard saying officers who harm black people should be killed. Ortiz has also been accused of attempting to burn a bail bonds shop along with Davis, who is accused of breaking the bond shop’s windows with brass knuckles he was filmed wearing.

Prater isn’t pulling any punches with radical leftists that have hijacked anti-police brutality protests. Five other “protesters” were arrested and charged with incitement of riots. Prater says all five were linked to Antifa and other far-left activist groups.
