Former First Lady Michelle Obama has decided to join her voter registration group, When We All Vote, with ultra-leftist PAC MoveOn.Org to push mail-in voting for the November 2020 election.
When We All Vote, a nonprofit advocacy group headed up by Michelle Obama and co-chairs Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, has been holding voter registration rallies since 2018.
Now, the group of Hollywood activists as decided to throw its weight behind the latest brainchild of the left: Voting by mail. GOP leaders have pushed back against the scheme, pointing out the potential for fraud and election meddling.
However, the new petition launched by MoveOn.Org on behalf of Obama’s advocacy group frames mail-in ballots as the only way for voters to “cast their ballot safely and without unnecessary risk” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The recently-launched petition pointed to the controversial April 7th Wisconsin primary as the justification for nationwide vote-by-mail measures. “During the Wisconsin primary this spring, thousands of voters risked their health and defied a stay-at-home order to exercise their right to vote,” the petition read.
However, the argument ignored the fact that there is no evidence of a single case of COVID-19 that could be linked to that primary.
Breitbart reported on Monday that “Wisconsin’s rate of identified cases went down in the two weeks after the primary election. And in the weeks after the primary, the state was only able to identify 52 voters out of 400,000 that had the virus — and it was impossible to determine if they even contracted the virus on Election Day.”
Democrats, including Congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), have made it clear that vote-by-mail legislation will be prioritized in the next coronavirus stimulus package.
