NYPD officers leaving force at a record pace in 2023

Cops across the country, every day under the Democrats' soft-on-crime policies, question the reason why they put their lives on the line every single day, often in the worst conditions.

That's especially the case in New York City, where droves of NYPD cops are resigning from their positions at what was once the premier, most prestigious law enforcement outfit in the world. According to the Daily Wire, the rate of resignations this year is astonishing.

"In the first two months of 2023, 239 officers left the New York City Police Department, substantially more than the 176 who left in 2022 and the 110 who left in 2021 during the same time period," the outlet wrote, citing data obtained by the New York Post.

In other words, if residents of the city and those who work there thought it was bad the past few years, they're in for what will likely be a total nightmare scenario of lawlessness.

One can't blame the police officers who are calling it quits. Aside from the soft-on-crime, woke bail reform policies that have led to a spike in crime, especially in Democrat-led cities, NYPD officers have also widely reported poor working conditions, low pay, and too many hours.

Many of those conditions will ultimately worsen with the current clip of resignations happening, with hundreds more expected by the end of 2023.

"Precinct cops are being forced to work an inhumane amount of overtime, including on their days off, while being penalized for minor uniform and administrative infractions," one unidentified officer told The Post. “Meanwhile, precincts barely have enough personnel to meet the minimum required to safely answer 911 calls."

Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch had even worse news.

"The NYPD staffing emergency is approaching the point of no return," Lynch said. "We are losing cops to better pay and benefits in other policing jobs almost every day."

Many of the resigning officers are headed to higher-paying agencies, and many are heading to higher pay and to precincts in states like Florida where the law is still enforced.

Staff mismanagement is apparently another issue plaguing the embattled police department.

"Hundreds of cops are being hidden under fake assignments or assigned to headquarters sitting at a desk all day and are considered ‘untouchable’ for patrol or enforcement duty because they have high-ranking supervisors protecting them," one officer told the Post.

For those still left, and who have the ability, right about now would be a great time to pack up and move out, because New York City will soon fall into a state of total anarchy.
